I remember some of those early days Bob. God has brought us a long way. Thanks for sharing your life experiences with us. You don't know how much it is helping me in this time of change in my life.
What a great comfort it is to know that God, my heavenly Father, never leaves me, and He guides me along. I can see that, especially during these last 40 years, when I left MO and moved to NY. Then years later, moved to Rolla, then 20 years later, moved to Washington, MO. God never left me, but, He guided me to a church where I could grow in knowledge of Him. Pastor Bob, you were, and still are, a part of my journey to grow in knowledge of God!! Thank you! And may God continue to bless you as you continue to share His word!!
Bro. Bob, this was a particularly touching writing for me. As you know, I always enjoy your writing. When my great niece was born, she was born with severe heart problems. During her birth, her heart rate dropped, and the doctor had to remove her from the womb. Because of the drop of her heart rate, the doctors did more extensive research. She had a t-shaped artery at the bottom of her heart instead of the two regular arteries. She had a hole in her heart. Because a baby at Children's Hospital died at birth, my great niece lived. I know that baby's family was broken hearted. They gave their baby to science. Because of that decision, my great niece lived. The doctors were able to use her two perfect arteries for our baby. Since that time our baby has had pig parts and cow parts placed in her body. I have loved her from the day I met her at nine o'clock in the evening. To make a long story short, she will graduate from Missouri S & T this Saturday with a perfect record of straight A's for her entire school career. She will teach at Wyman Elementary School, the elementary school she attended as an elementary student. God is so good, and we are so blessed.
This writing was particularly meaningful to me. Not because I'm struggling, but because I'm in the midst of composing a booklet containing spiritual exercises, passages of encouragement, and prayers. I’m writing it for a youth retreat. During my research, I've experienced a renewed sense of God's love for me, even amidst my shortcomings. I had overlooked Isaiah 43 until you reminded me of it. As always, thanks for your wisdom and caring thoughts.
